FEU announces reappointment of Jakob Vedsted Andersen as a member of the Executive Board

The Federation of European Fire Officers (FEU) is pleased to announce the reappointment of Jakob Vedsted Andersen to the Executive Board for a second three-year term. This decision was taken at the 55th FEU Council meeting in Birmingham, UK, from 5-7 June 2024.

The FEU, an independent body of senior fire professionals from across Europe, is led by a president and a management board consisting of four members and a secretary. Jakob Vedsted Andersen, who joined the board in 2021, leads the Leadership Programme and has shown exceptional leadership during challenging times, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine conflict and the growing threat of forest fires.

Since spring 2022, Jakob has led the FEU Officer Development Program, demonstrating his vision and commitment to strengthening leadership within the federation. His dedication and strategic direction have significantly advanced the program, demonstrating his commitment to strengthening leadership within the federation.

Jakob has been putting enormous effort into establishing a network of the bigger cities in Europe, which is currently being organized. This initiative aims to promote cooperation and exchange between European cities on fire safety and disaster management.

Jakob is also leading the organisation of the 1st European Leadership Conference at the Interschutz Fair in Germany, scheduled for 2026. This event aims to bring together leaders and experts to improve joint capabilities and promote innovative solutions in fire safety and disaster management.

 

Jakob Vedsted Andersen represents the Danish Emergency Management Organization in the FEU and is Chief Fire Officer and Executive Director of Greater Copenhagen Fire and Rescue Service. His reappointment is a sign of continued progress and innovation in fire safety and disaster response.
