FEU in direct contact with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine
Since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the FEU has been intensively working to help the State Emergency Service Ukraine by actively matching supply and demand of firefighting equipment. The FEU has first line contact to Ukrainian fire officers and knows how to convey the needs directly to its network. This week there was an online meeting between the general Serhiy Kruk and his deputies from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the FEU presidium.
The delegates had an impressive conversation about the war situation in Ukraine. General Kruk explained how the firefighters’ role and function of the State Emergency Service has changed and evolves daily as warfare progresses. He also informed about the quantity of dead/injured firefighters and the damaged fire unites. Those are numbers beyond everyone’s imagination. Furthermore, he pointed out what the urgent needs are for the firefighters and shared an updated list of equipment. Just about everything a firefighter could possibly need. Think of 4wd vehicles, equipment for infrastructure, construction and renovation work, gear and personal protective equipment, means of communication, medical supplies, means for demining, software, drones, etc.
